Two Burnham-On-Sea fire crews rushed to Lympsham on Friday afternoon (April 9th) after a broken power line set a hedgerow alight.
One engine from Burnham was initially sent to Bridgwater Road at 2.02pm after a tree was reported to be on fire, caused by downed power lines.
“Upon arriving at the scene the fire had spread to 25 metres of hedgerow and a dog kennel, so another Burnham appliance was mobilised,” a fire spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Crews used one main water jet and a further hose reel jet to bring the fire fully under control. Western Power Distribution also attended the scene to isolate the power lines.
