Burnham-On-Sea photographer Andy Slade captured these photos of the first total lunar eclipse in more than three years on Saturday night (March 3rd).
The eclipse began at 8.18pm, with the Moon totally immersed in the shadow of the Earth between 10.44pm and 11.58pm.
Clear skies in Burnham-On-Sea meant the eclipse was fully visible.
During “totality” the moon appeared reddish in colour, as only light that had been filtered through the Earth’s atmosphere reached the Moon’s surface.
The set of images below – taken by Stavros Partakis in Burnham-On-Sea – show the different phases of the eclipse.
