Lucy Westlake of Highbridge and Burnham St John Cadets has been attending her last two events in her role as Somerset Cadet of the Year.
On Sunday morning (November 13th) she took part in Britain’s main Remembrance Day parade at the Cenotaph in London.
And last week, she attended a reception for young achievers at Buckingham Palace where she met Princess Anne.
The Princess spoke to all the cadets and asked Lucy where she comes from and what she wanted to do after leaving college.
“Taking part in the parade was a great honour. I have greatly enjoyed my time as Cadet of the Year enormously and the opportunities it has given me,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Lucy competed against cadets from across Somerset during a selection event held at the South West Ambulance Station in Taunton last year in order to achieve the accolade of the county’s cadet of the year – as we reported here.
