Burnham-On-Sea’s Love Lane is re-open for three weeks over Easter

-

The road closure signs were removed in Burnham-On-Sea’s Love Lane on Friday (March 31st) as Wessex Water re-opened the road for three weeks to help alleviate traffic over the Easter holidays following concerns about holiday traffic delays.

Love Lane had been closed from Stoddens Lane to Hawley Way while the water company lays new sewer pipes along the road as part of its flood alleviation work in the area.

The road re-opened on Friday at 5pm and will now stay open during the whole Easter holiday period, before closing again on the morning of Monday 24th April.

The road will then remain closed for a further four weeks while Wessex Water completes its work.

Andy Roberts, project manager at Wessex Water, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our thanks go to local residents and motorists for their continued patience and co-operation during our essential work.”

“These further improvements to the sewerage system will help reduce the risk of flooding during times of intense rainfall.”
