Residents have been thanked for their patience after a busy road in Burnham-On-Sea re-opened this week following four months of major roadworks.
Love Lane has been shut from the junction with Stoddens Lane to the Tesco roundabout from 9th January through to Friday (19th May) to allow Wessex Water to lay new sewer pipes, barring a three-week period over Easter.
The re-opening has been welcomed by local residents, who have faced diversions during the closure.
Lauren East, a Wessex Water spokeswoman, thanked residents for their patience.
She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ve been carrying out essential improvements to the sewerage network in Brent Knoll, as part of a larger scheme to reduce the risk of flooding during times of intense rainfall.”
“Part of this work involved laying new sewer pipes along Love Lane and the fields adjacent to Stodden’s Lane.”
