Owners of Burnham-On-Sea’s Lounge restaurant explain why it’s shut

-

The owners of a Burnham-On-Sea restaurant that only opened for business in January have explained why it has closed down.

Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported here in January that The Lounge had opened in place of The Mitre in Burnham’s College Street, with a revamped dining area and a new menu of local food.

Managers Craig Peters and Jimie Scully, pictured below, undertook a full refurbishment of the premises prior to opening.

Craig told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “We had an opportunity arise which is an offer we couldn’t turn down to start a new life away from Somerset. Even though the restaurant was doing well, we felt it was time to move on and start a new life with a brand new fresh start.”

A new owner is set to take over the College Street premises soon to open a new restaurant.
