A runner from Burnham-On-Sea is taking part in the Bath Half Marathon, in aid of St John Ambulance later this month.
Louise Sherman works for the first aid charity as a finance administrator, at its regional headquarters in Bridgwater, and sees at first hand the work volunteers do in the community.
“I am running for St John Ambulance, because I believe in everything that we do and think that everybody should learn first aid as a life skill,” Louise told Burnham-On-Sea.com, adding that she’s aiming to raise £250.
“I will be proud to run for the organisation and hope to raise awareness for the charity and raise valuable funds to help with our goals.”
It’s the first half marathon for Louise, who only started running 18 months ago.
“I started by doing “Couch to 5k” and ran my first five kilometre Parkrun in November 2015,” she added. “I never thought I would be running a half marathon!”
