A Burnham-On-Sea town councillor has said this week she will be standing down from her position at the next election.
Louise Parkin, a Conservative town councillor, announced her decision on Burnham-On-Sea.com’s discussion forums.
She later explained: “Being a town councillor is a thankless job – you can do nothing right and can’t please everyone.”
“I have more than enough on my plate running my business at the moment – we are really busy,” she said.
“With family commitments too, I just feel that it will be right to step down at the next election.”
