Rumours are circulating in Burnham-On-Sea that this week’s winning £17million National Lottery ticket was bought in the town.
Wednesday’s draw saw one lucky person correctly picking the winning numbers 9, 11, 37, 40, 41 and 49 to scoop a huge £17,799,986.
Speculation suggests that the ticket was bought in Burnham by a local person, although nothing else is known.
A spokeswoman for Camelot, which runs the lottery, told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Friday afternoon that the identity of the winner is not yet known.
“This winner has not yet come forward to claim their prize and if the player requests no publicity, he or she will not named by us.”
Colin Morris at GW Hurley newsagents, which sells the tickets, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I haven’t heard about any big winners buying tickets here this week.”
