Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called to a petrol station in Highbridge on Tuesday afternoon (November 1st) after this huge lorry became wedged underneath the canopy.
The removal lorry hit part of the roof of the Total Garage in Burnham Road shortly after 4pm, prompting a call-out for fire crews.
Fire brigade spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our crew was called to the garage after a heavy goods vehicle was in collision with a CCTV pod attached to the canopy.”
“Crews conducted a safety check to ensure there was no additional structural damage.”
Passer-by Phil New told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The lorry seemed to get wedged under the canopy. It was quite a sight and attracted lots of interest from passers by.”
Another onlooker added: “The lorry driver looked pretty embarrassed by the whole episode!”
