A recovery operation was underway near Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday evening after this lorry ended up on its side in a ditch.
Police temporarily closed Burnham Moor Lane after the lorry slid into the rhyne, as pictured here. Recovery services were called to pull the truck free.
It is understood that a soft road verge, weakened by weeks of heavy rain, gave way and caused the unfortunate incident.
A spokesman from Burnham Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The driver managed to escape unhurt.”
Burnham Moor Lane has seen several similar accidents in recent years, including a dramatic crash last September when the occupants of a car were lucky to escape uninjured.
