A crash on the M5 motorway between Burnham-On-Sea and Bridgwater caused long delays for motorists of more than 90 minutes on Sunday, September 15th.
Highways England said queues stretched back for more than eight miles following the three-vehicle collision on the northbound carriageway between junction 23 for Bridgwater North and Burnham-On-Sea at junction 22.
All traffic was held while the vehicles were moved onto the hard shoulder. It was not immediately clear whether anyone had been injured in the incident.
The A38 through Highbridge was busier than normal as motorists sought alternative routes instead.
