Winner announced of competition to promote shopping in Burnham

-

The winner of a competition held in Burnham-On-Sea to mark National Independent Retailers Month has been announced.

Burnham’s Town Team and Chamber of Trade linked up to organise the contest, which ran throughout July, to highlight the large number of independent shops in the town.

Shoppers were invited to enter the competition by identifying the logos of Burnham’s independent shops.

Participating traders pledged shopping vouchers worth £470, which have been given to the overall winner of the competition, 12 year-old Cerys Thomas from Berrow.

The youngster said she was “really pleased” to have the contest when she attended a short ceremony to receive her prize on Saturday (August 10th) from town crier Alistair Murray and the Town Team’s Linda Bullimore, as pictured here.

“The competition encouraged shoppers to visit Burnham’s independent retailers and have a bit of fun too identifying the logos,” said Linda. “We had a good response and thank everyone who took part or supported the contest.”

The contest was part-sponsored by Burnham-On-Sea.com.
