Have your say on new homes plans for Burnham and Highbridge

-

Sedgemoor District Council is encouraging local residents in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge to have their say on plans for new housing in the two towns.

The authority’s new long-term Local Plan sets out the areas where new houses and factories could be built in future.

As part of the preparation of this plan, Sedgemoor District Council is consulting on possible housing sites in Burnham and Highbridge.

“The consultation has highlighted various issues, including the need to ensure that necessary roads are in place and that there are improvements to essential services such as schools and health care facilities to cope with any future growth,” said council spokeswoman Claire Faun.

“There is still time to comment on the suggestions with the closing date being August 8th.”

“All comments will be fully considered and make an important contribution to shaping the future of the district.”

“There will be further opportunities to comment on the new local plan when the full draft document is published later this year.”

Full details of the consultation and how to submit your feedback can be found on the council’s web site here.

Any objections made at that stage will be considered by an independent inspector at an public Examination in 2017.
