Local author Andrew Powell-Thomas to give talk at Burnham-On-Sea Library today

-

Local author Andrew Powell-Thomas will be at Burnham-On-Sea Library today (Wednesday, 18th September) discussing his latest book.

He will be talking about his latest publication during the visit between 10.30am and noon.

“He will give a talk on his most recent book, as he explores the many places that make Somerset so special, from the natural splendour of moorland, parks and coastline to the man-made treasures of castles, magnificent houses and museums,” said a spokesman.

“There will be chance to ask Andrew questions – ideal for those budding writers of the future.”

He’ll also be selling copies of the book. The event is free of charge with no need to reserve spaces.

A school teacher by trade, Andrew writes children’s fiction, influenced by his two young sons, as well as being the author of a number of local history books.

His debut book, a rhyming children’s book entitled ‘James and the Dragon’, was published in January 2017.

April 2017 saw the publication of his second book, and his first foray into the field of non-fiction, with ‘The West Country’s Last Line of Defence – Taunton Stop Line’.

His third book ‘Somerset’s Military Heritage’ came out in April 2018 and his next book ’50 Gems of Somerset’ was published in February this year.
