Burnham fundraiser will lose her hair to raise cash for cancer charities

-

A Burnham-On-Sea resident hopes to raise hundreds of pounds for two cancer support charities by having her hair cut off.

Lorna Storey is having her locks removed to raise cash for Cancer Research UK and the Little Princess Trust.

She explained: “Cancer affects nearly everyone I know in one way or another. We lost my incredible nan to cancer three years ago and my amazing brother-in-law and beautiful cousin are currently working hard to kick cancer’s butt!”

“I’ve comforted close friends when cancer has stolen from them and rejoiced when other loved ones have won their battle.”

“There is no point in me telling you I will run a race to raise money as you will only ever see me run if my Mini Sensation has bolted or if something scary is chasing me!”

“So, I’m doing something that won’t come easy to me but is actually a no brainer if I can make even just a small difference.”

“My lovely friend Kelly is ‘doing the deed’ for me free of charge. The hair that Kelly cuts off is being donated to Little Princess Trust who make real hair wigs for children with cancer.”

“All I ask is that you please donate whatever you can to support me in my quest and share my JustGiving page so others can help too.”

She is encouraging donations via her JustGiving page here.
