Tonight: Hospice to hold ‘Light Up The Lake’ evening in Burnham

-

A special Light up the Lake evening will be held at Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove this evening (Wednesday, July 30th) when visitors will be able to celebrate the memory of loved ones.

Weston Hospicecare has chosen Burnham’s seafront gardens to host its first ‘Light up the Lake’ event in Burnham, which will take place from 7pm.

The event encourages families and friends to celebrate the memory they hold of a loved one and to raise valuable funding through donations during the evening to support the work of Weston Hospicecare.

Visitors to the gardens can add a unique dedication message to a colourful candle bag and floating flower, then see the flower and glowing candle alongside others.

A spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Whether you choose to keep your flower or drift it out onto the water, it represents a dear friend or relative who is no longer with you.”

“The light shining brightly across the water will reflect the loving memories you have shared. You do not need to have used the services of Weston Hospicecare to take part in this event, it is open to all who want a special time and place to remember a loved one.”

For more information or to pre-register call 01934 423960 and ask for Kaya Evans or Karen Murphy or email supporter.care@westonhospicecare.org.uk. This event is being organised with the assistance of St Andrew’s Church.
