Burnham-On-Sea’s lifeboat crew was called out on Sunday evening (June 21st) to rescue a kite surfer believed to be in difficulty in Bridgwater Bay.
Burnham’s Puffin lifeboat set off to the beach at 4.21pm, and was about to launch when it was recalled by Swansea Coastguard control.
“The casualty had apparently managed to get out of trouble by himself,” a lifeboat spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“We are always ready to launch when requested to do so by Coastguard control, and fortunately this time we were not needed.”
