Police have appealed for witnesses after an attempted burglary at a Burnham-On-Sea supermarket this week.
Two sets of doors were smashed when an attacker tried to gain entry to Lidl’s Oxford Street store in Burnham, as pictured here.
Sgt Ian Kennett from Burnham Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police were called to the store at 10.30pm on Sunday evening. The entry doors had been smashed, setting off the alarms.”
The attacker left empty-handed after failing to get into the store.
A police scientific investigation officer was at the store on Monday, gathering fingerprint and photographic evidence.
Police have also appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or the non-emergency line 101.
The supermarket was open as usual on Monday, but shoppers were asked to enter the store via the exit while repairs got underway.
