Burnham-On-Sea Library is to reinstate a microfilm reader for the use of local researchers.
The reader was removed last year as part of a number of changes, but is being reintroduced thanks to the efforts of The North Sedgemoor Local History Group and library staff.
The reader will be available from 15th May onwards and to mark the reinstatement a coffee morning is being held on that day from 10am-12 noon at the library.
“Customers interested in researching local history and ancestry can look at local newspapers from the 1800s to the present day using the microfilm reader and also browse a collection of local history books,” said a spokesman.
“We at the library would like to thank John Strickland from the The North Sedgemoor Local History Group and his colleagues for all the work they have put in to have this useful service back in Burnham Library.”
