Libraries in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge will be marking National Libraries Day on Saturday (February 9th) with several free activities.
During Saturday, all DVDs will be available to hire at half price. There will also be free time on the internet for library members, up to three free reservations and a chance to win a Kobo e-reader.
Burnham Library will also be holding a coffee morning from 10am-11.30am when children aged 7 and under will be able to take part in a free bear hunt. Highbridge Library will also be holding a fun-packed ‘hunt the bear activity’ throughout the morning.
Somerset County Council’s staff will also be on hand to explain how easy it is to become a library member and gain access to a wide range of services.
National Libraries Day is a culmination of a week’s worth of celebrations in school, college, university, workplace and public libraries across the UK.
Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member for Libraries, David Hall, said: “This is a good chance to find out what is on offer at your local library, and I hope many people will find our National Libraries Day events inspire them to use the service far more often.”
