These were the scenes at a busy Burnham-On-Sea roundabout on Wednesday morning (May 26th) after a lorry shed its load of thousands of leaflets.
Police and council cleaners were called to the Edithmead roundabout next to Burnham’s junction 22 of the M5 motorway at 8.38am after the unusual accident led to thousands of Wookey Hole leaflets being spilt across the busy junction.
“The lorry shed it load of several crates of leaflets and a clean-up operation was required,” police spokesman Wayne Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “I suppose it gives new meaning to the phrase ‘leaflet drop’.”
