The blueprint for housing and infrastructure development across Burnham-On-Sea and the rest of Sedgemoor over the next 15 years has received a seal of approval from the Planning Inspectorate this week.
A complex legal process has been followed over the past four years and endorsement of the ‘Core Strategy’ is a major milestone.
“There have been four stages of consultations during the process. These have all been fed into the Core Strategy and the Inspector examined the document in a public hearing in May this year,” council spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Sedgemoor has just received the inspector’s report which confirms that the Strategy meets all criteria. The Core Strategy and the inspector’s report will be debated at a meeting of the full council on October 12th.”
The full Inspector’s report and changes which are binding on the Council can be viewed from the Core Strategy web page here.
