A development of 53 new homes could be built on this patch of open space in Burnham-On-Sea if planning bosses give it the go-ahead.
Persimmon Homes has submitted a new proposal to Sedgemoor District Council for the homes on land to the west of Lawrence Close and north of Wallace Wells Road, pictured here.
It comes after a proposal to build a larger development of 69 homes on the site was refused last August.
The new proposals include 14 two-bedroom, 36 three-bedroom and three four-bedroom houses, in addition to 92 car parking spaces.
Local resident Nigel Kemp told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There is a great deal of concern among the residents here regarding the new scheme, which has been altered only very slightly.”
Part of the site was formerly used for landfill and is owned by Sedgemoor District Council.
Local residents have until March 24th to give their feedback on the proposals to the planning department at the district council.
