Burnham-On-Sea fire crews have helped to resue two lambs stranded in a river.

Crews were called to Puriton Hill in Puriton at 9.07pm on Friday evening (June 29th) to a report of a sheep and two lambs stuck in the water.

“One fire appliance from Bridgwater, one fire appliance from Burnham-On-Sea and the specialist rescue team from Exmouth were mobilised to this incident.”

“Once the crew were in attendance, the sheep had already self-rescued, leaving the two lambs still within the river.”

“The crew got to work rescuing the two lambs with the use of water rescue equipment. Both lambs were successfully rescued uninjured.”
