Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards and RNLI lifeboats were called out amid concern for a person in the sea on Saturday evening (July 16th).
Crews were called out just after 7pm to the vulnerable lady, aged in her 20s, in the water at the northern end of Burnham-On-Sea beach near the low lighthouse.
“The Coastguard Team was paged to reports of a vulnerable female walking into the water on Burnham Beach and the Burnham Lifeboats were also paged in case she managed to fully enter the water,” said a spokesman.
“When the mobile response unit arrived, the person was out of the water and making her way off of the beach. We spoke to some members of the group she was with and managed to catch up with her just off the beach near the road. After a brief, friendly chat it was decided to give her a lift back to where she was staying with family members.”
