Members of Berrow’s Kung Fu group Fei Lung Kwan are celebrating this week after a number of successes at the sport’s national junior championships.
The club travelled to Horton in Berkshire to compete in the annual championships, in which the UK’s top youngsters were in action.
“The students from the Berrow class did exceptionally well again this year, gaining eight of the nine top positions plus two of the three special awards,” the group’s leader Patrick Barber told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
There were a number of national winners from the club. In the 8 years and under category, Jacob Nelson was first while Andreas Laoutaris was third. In the 9 -11 years category, Chloe Reynolds was first, Sophie Butt was second and Nicole Mason was third. And in the 12-15 years category, Harrison Barber took top place, while Charlie Hobbs-Evans was second and Beth Anstee was third.
The overall national champion was Harrison Barber, another Berrow member, and special awards were presented for Most Impressive Student on the Day to Sophie Butt, and the Student with the Best Spirit on the Day was Charlie Hobbs-Evans.
The club’s students and families celebrated their success with a special trip to London’s Chinatown where they also enjoyed lunch at a Chinese restaurant.
