Calm weather hits hopes of holding Burnham-On-Sea kiting day

-

Hopes of holding a successful kiting day on Burnham-On-Sea beach were blown away on Saturday (September 27th) due to calm weather conditions.

The event went ahead as planned on the beach next to The Pavilion, but a lack of wind meant only a small number of kites could be flown.

Organiser Gaynor Brown said: “It was very disapppointing that there was not enough wind for most kites to be flown – but that’s one of the obvious risks of holding an event like this that relies on the weather. We’ll definitely be trying again next year to hold the event.”

The free event had been organised for local people to give kiting a go on the beach while enjoying some fresh air.
