Berrow and Brent Knoll schools achieve sports awards

-

Two schools in the Burnham-On-Sea area are celebrating after achieving two awards.

Berrow Primary School has scooped a Gold Kitemark award in recognition of its commitment to the development of competition and PE across the school and community.

The Berrow School Girls’ football team and Small Schools’ team are both Sedgemoor champions and have helped the school achieve a Gold Kite Mark for a second year running.

And Brent Knoll School pupils Polly and Ali, two members of the school’s Children’s Parliament, have been presented with a Silver Kite Mark pennant in recognition of the school’s sporting activities.

“The children always make a great effort in both our competitive sports teams and after-school clubs and, considering the size of the school, always do very well in local sports events,” said Brent Knoll headteacher Chris Burman.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led awards scheme to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.
