Strong onshore winds provided ideal conditions for kite buggying racers from across the south west on Brean beach on Sunday morning (October 26th).
Among those taking part in a fast-paced competition was Karen Mansfield, who recently came fourth in the European kite buggy championships.
Run by the South West Association of Traction Kiting (SWATK), a series of races is being held at Brean throughout the year.
Alistair McHardy, SWATK chairman, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Brean beach is ideal for us because of the hard, flat sand and its exposure to the south westerly winds. There are only five beaches like this in the UK and this is among the very best.”
Brean Parish Council gave its permission to the club’s members to use the beach earlier this year.
