King Alfred School in Highbridge has fully re-opened today (Wednesday, November 26th) after a break-in led to hundreds of pupils being sent home on Tuesday.
The school’s A Block was struck by burglars and around 750 students in years 7, 8 and 9 were sent home in order to allow police to carry out forensic work as part of their investigation.
Headmaster Keith Diffey told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police sealed off the block while they undertook their investigation. Fortunately, it was a relatively minor break-in with a few projectors taken.”
Burnham police have appealed for any witnesses to the break-in to come forward by contacting 0845 456 7000.
