Highbridge’s King Alfred School Academy has launched a new scheme to help those that are less fortunate at Christmas time.

There are boxes in the school in each tutor room where the students are encouraged to donate food and toiletries in a group effort to help those in need at this time of need.

All proceeds will be donated to the Burnham and Highbridge Foodbank on Friday 21st December, and the students and staff can donate as much as they like.

Across The Priory Learning Trust, there is a strong emphasis on helping others in need whether it be a thoughtful piece of advice or by donating to charities, helping to make all students well-rounded individuals once they leave school.

The organiser of the scheme, Miss Charles, said: “It is an amazing scheme that involves both staff and students to come together to give help and support to those that need it at Christmas.”
