Jess Synnott, Kim Lee, Amy Lewis and Elle Grant were among the A-Level students in Burnham-On-Sea celebrating today (Thursday August 20th) after receiving their exam results.
Emotions were running high when 100 pupils aged 17-18 from King Alfred School gathered to open their results envelopes and learn how they had done in their A Level and AS results.
“We are celebrating our best ever set of A level results. This year’s pass rate of 97% is a school record,” headteacher Dr Keith Diffey told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“There were dozens of delighted students opening envelopes this morning. Many are off to university and they have all worked extremely hard and deserve their success.”
Head of sixth form Jonathan Gaskell added: “I’m very happy with how the students have done. Many have been getting their first university choices.”
Among the top performers were Sarah-Jayne Aston, who achieved three ‘A’ grades and is going on to study bio-medicine at East Anglia University.
Emily Frost also got three ‘A’ grades and will be studying veterinary science at Bristol University.
Tara Moxey got two ‘A’ grades and a ‘B’, while Danielle Edwards, Ruby King, Amy Lewis and Jess Synott got an ‘A’ and two ‘B’s.
