A long-running Burnham-On-Sea youth dance group is hoping to attract more members to its ranks.
KAZDANZ, which has been running at King Alfred School in Highbridge for over 20 years, is aiming to recruit more members.
Alec Brice, the group’s artistic director, says: “The purpose of Kazdanz is to give local young people between ages 12 and 18 an opportunity to enjoy dance as a creative art form, regardless of their circumstances or ability.”
“We have no auditions or exams, and those who cannot afford the £20 a term (£60 a year) subscriptions attend as usual nevertheless. Our style of dance is young contemporary, which can involve elements of ballet, jazz dance, contemporary and even street dance.”
The groups meets regularly at King Alfred Sports Centre in Highbridge. For more information, call Alec on 01934 713376 or click here.
The group has built up a close relationship with a youth dance group from Pereslavl-Zalessky in Russia who plan to visit Burnham later this year.
