Major upgrade for Burnham-On-Sea sports centre completed

-

The completion of a major refurbishment at a Burnham-On-Sea sports centre is set to be marked with a special opening of the facilities to the public this week.

King Alfred Sports Centre in Burnham Road has invested tens of thousands of pounds on the purchase of new high-tech exercise equipment and a fresh new look.

Its newly-refitted gym and sports hall will be open to the public during a special two-day open event being held this coming weekend.

Visitors to the centre will be able to tour the facilities and take part in free classes on Saturday 16th October from 10am-1pm and Sunday 17th October from 2pm-6pm.

“There will be two spinning classes free of charge on the Saturday from 10.15am-11am and also at 11.30am-12.15pm. There will also be a Saturday Fun Club for 5-12 year olds which will also be free of charge,” the centre’s Amanda Johnson told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“And on the Sunday we will be running a free body culture class in the fitness studio from 2-3pm and a body conditioning session from 4.30-5.30pm. All will be free.”
