Highbridge’s King Alfred School has told pupils that it will be open as usual on Tuesday (February 21st) despite a power failure that interrupted services on Monday.
The school issued a letter to all parents alerting them to the “power supply issues” which occurred throughout Monday afternoon and affected several services including the school’s telephone system.
Headteacher Andy Owen said: “The school remained functional with all students in lessons. Our emergency systems ran on back-up batteries, ensuring that the school met all appropriate health and safety requirements.”
In an update on Monday evening, he said the issues had been resolved and that the school will open as normal on Tuesday.
