Burnham-On-Sea.com reported here that the school has been rated overall as ‘good’ following an inspection earlier this month in which Ofsted praised many positive findings at the school.
Headteacher Andrew Owen, pictured, said: “I am delighted that Ofsted have recognised the huge improvements that we have made and have graded the school as ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ for Behaviour and Safety.”
“The inspection has validated the progress that has been made over recent years in all aspects of our work. I am particularly delighted that the Ofsted team fully recognised the behaviour and positive attitudes of our students which were graded as ‘Outstanding’, stating ‘Pupils are proud of their school’.”
“It adds that ‘they show great respect to one another and to adults. Their behaviour is exemplary both in lessons and around the school, and they feel safe’.”
Mr Owen added: “In addition to the written report the Ofsted inspectors described our students as ‘courteous, ready to learn, polite, caring and friendly’; a fantastic and fully deserved accolade for our young people.”
He added: “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all members of the school community especially our students, parents/carers, staff and governors who have contributed to the school’s success over recent years. We are all very proud of this recognition by Ofsted – next stop – outstanding!”
