A pupil was air-lifted to hospital this afternoon (Monday) after suffering injuries in an accident at Highbridge’s King Alfred School.
The Devon and Somerset Air Ambulance was called to the school at 1.30pm after a boy was injured in a sports accident.
Dave Rogers, spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service, confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle from Burnham were sent to the school at 1.29pm to assist a pupil.”
“He was air-lifted to Weston General Hospital and arrived there a short time later for treatment.”
The helicopter, pictured, landed next to the school’s astro turf pitch and the youngster was taken to the aircraft on a stretcher.
