Star pupils from Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have been praised during an end-of-year awards event at King Alfred School.
The Highbridge school held its annual presentation evening for students in Years 11 and 13 earlier this month to recognise those students who have done well in their GCSEs and A-Levels this year.
Awards were presented to a stand out student in each subject and in each tutor group.
There was also a ‘Pastoral Prize of the Year’, which was won by Joseph Collman, Year 11 and Amy Rickwood, Year 13.
Outstanding Student of the Year’ for Year 11 was won by Frederick Tiso and Sophie Daymond-Heuze for Year 13.
A final award went to Rory Edwards for his `Outstanding Academic Achievement’ in Year 13.
The school was delighted that Miss Pardey, who was Head of Year 11, was able to attend the evening to present Year 11 with the main prizes. Mr Gaskell, Head of Sixth Form, presented the Year 13 main prizes.
Head teacher Mrs Denise Hurr said it was a great evening and a fantastic start to the run up to Christmas. “There was a lovely atmosphere and it was great to hear how well the students are doing,” she added.
