Two local singers who have reached the finals of a Burnham-On-Sea hotel’s karaoke competition were featured on BBC1’s The One Show on Thursday evening (March 6th).
Breeze Kilpin and Nina Fulbrook sang live during the programme, which also featured the 2013 winner of The X Factor, Sam Bailey.
The Royal Clarence on Burnham seafront, which is holding the final of its karaoke contest this Sunday, was invited to take part in the show.
The hotel’s Olly Harris told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were contacted by The One Show after they saw our karaoke competition being promoted online. Since they had Sam on the show, they wanted to film two of our singers practising during the interview. It was wonderful publicity for them – they’re both great singers and it was all the more special because it was Breeze’s birthday!”
The hotel’s 12 grand finalists are Jade Parkes, Leanne Adams, Nina Fulbrook, Breeze Kilpin, Dan Saunders, Ross Kirk, Steve Tindall, David Ilsley, Phil Weaver, Trevor Turvey-Sealey, Sion Williams and John Oatway.
Each of the finalists will perform three songs of their choice, one after the other, during Sunday’s final, which starts at 6pm.
One of the songs must be a number one hit from 2013/14 and the winner will receive £400 cash with £100 going to the runner-up.
The professional judges will include vocalist Val Ross, opera singer Tim Pitman and Phil Gould, who has worked in the music business for 30+ years.
