Schoolchildren in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have been celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee this week with special visits by the town’s Mayor.
A total of 1,300 commemorative Jubilee Mugs have been presented free of charge to all primary school children by Mayor Ken Smout and the Chairman of the Town Council’s Diamond Jubilee Committee, Cllr Neville Jones.
The mugs have been presented to pupils at Burnham Infants School, St Andrew’s Junior School, Churchfield School and St Joseph’s School.
Cllr Jones told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are delighted with how the mugs look. One side features the town crest and the other Her Majesty – they are a super lasting momento of the Jubilee.”
The Burnham mugs are currently on sale to the public at Burnham tourist information centre, priced at £3.99, while stocks last.
