Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards received Jubilee Medals from the town’s Mayor and bid farewell to a retiring member of the organisation on Friday evening (June 22nd).
Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Ken Smout presented six members of the team with the Jubilee medals, which are being given to members of the emergency services across the UK who have served in an active role for longer than five years.
The ceremony, held at Burnham Sailing Club, also saw long-serving Burnham Coastguard member Dave Ilsley retiring, as reported here.
The Mayor also presented community awards to Burnham Coastguards, BARB and the RNLI to recognise the work they do in the local community.
