Job seekers in the Burnham-On-Sea area are being encouraged to attend a recuitment fair in the town this February.
The free event will be aimed at local residents who are looking for a job or who are considering a change of employment, or who want more information about improving their employment prospects.
Sedgemoor District Council is organising the Recruitment Fair on Monday 16th February at the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre in Princess Street.
The council has organised a wide range of local employers and organisations to showcase jobs on offer for local people, as well as apprenticeships and training opportunities. The Recruitment Fair will be open between 10.30am and 12.30pm and 1.30pm and 4pm.
A range of employers including the EDF Energy Hinkley Point C Jobs Brokerage, Berry’s Coaches, Somerset Care, Avon and Somerset Police, Notaro Care Homes, Brean Leisure Park, Unity Holiday Resort and 1610 have confirmed their attendance and many will have details of current vacancies.
Job Centre Plus will be providing information on the variety of opportunities in the area. At the last count employers told us they had 65+ jobs to advertise on the day.
Bridgwater College and Somerset Business Agency will also be available to discuss how you could enhance your skills for future employment opportunities or set-up your own business.
Laura Fowler, Employment & Skills Outreach Worker, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our 2014 Burnham Recruitment Fair was such a great success we wanted to hold another. Last year 380 job seekers attended and three were offered jobs there and then. We are hoping this year’s event is just as successful. There is no need to pre-book just come along to one of the sessions and see how we can help you.”
