Almost 100 fun runners braved chilly temperatures to take part in Burnham-On-Sea’s annual ‘Jingle Run’ on Sunday morning (January 2nd).
The popular event is usually held before Christmas, but was postponed last month during the heavy snowfall.
Many of the runners came dressed in colourful festive costumes to take part in two races along the town’s seafront, as pictured here. Among the fancy dress outfits were gift boxes, Santa suits and reindeer!
The main four-mile run began on the North Esplanade and saw the runners wend their way along the seafront to Apex Park and back, while the shorter children’s fun run saw the participants race along the beach from Maddock’s Slade to the jetty and back.
Organiser Martin Rogers from Burnham Swim and Sports Academy told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s been another fun event.”
“We’ve had a good turnout of runners and everyone seems to have had a good time. Thanks to everyone who’s supported the event today.”
