Summer jazz event draws crowds to Burnham’s Marine Cove gardens

An afternoon of jazz and cream teas drew crowds of spectators to Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove gardens on Sunday (16th August).

Organised by the Friends of Marine Cove and Sedgemoor District Council, the event included live music by the New Society Jazz Band and refreshments from Burnham’s Crafty Tea Cup Cafe.

Childrens entertainment included a hook a duck game in the fountain and croquet on the lawns.

Marine Cove Community Gardener Jacqui Strong said it was a successful event enjoyed by many families in the sunshine.

A second event at the Cove, focusing on gardening and learning about the gardens, will be held on Thursday 20th August between 10am and midday. If you have any queries or are interested in being involved in gardening in the cove or joining the Friends of Marine Cove come along and get some tips and ideas on how to go about it. This event will be suitable for any age group.
