Internet safety advice given to pupils by Burnham-On-Sea Police

-

Burnham-On-Sea Police handed out safety advice to local schoolchildren during a special event to mark Safer Internet Day on Tuesday.

Constable Ian Bartlett visited pupils at Highbridge’s King Alfred School, as pictured, where leaflets and guidance were given out on using the Web.

The Huntspill and Pawlett Beat Beat Team also gave Internet safety lessons to West Huntspill Primary School pupils.

And the Burnham Town Centre Beat Team also held an internet-themed beat surgery at the library in Burnham where online safety advice was given.

Safer Internet Day 2014 was held with the theme of ‘Let’s create a better Internet together’, giving the opportunity to focus on both the creative things that children and young people are doing online, as well as the role that we all play in helping to create a better internet.

The annual event is organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre to promote the safe and responsible use of online technology and mobile phones for children and young people.
