Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Inner Wheel Club have been busy this week packing shoeboxes full of handmade gifts for needy families in Romania.
The club has knitted a range of handmade hats, scarves, jumpers, cardigans, teddies, handbags and bed socks.
“The items have filled a total of 46 Christmas shoeboxes that have been covered in festive paper and are ready to go to Transylvania in Romania,” the club’s Sandra Moon told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
She said that several items have also been made for the local community, such as knitted squares that are made into blankets for the elderly, tiny blankets for premature babies and breast cushions for ladies who have recently had surgery.
