Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Inner Wheel Club have been busy knitting Christmas gifts for needy people in Romania this week.
The ladies have been creating hats, scarfs, jumpers, cardigans, knitted teddies, girls handbags and socks.
The items are now being packaged up in 39 shoeboxes to be sent to Romania in time for Christmas.
“It is one of the most joyous things we do – not only does it make us feel Christmassy, albeit it a bit early, but it is imagining the pleasure that the recipients will get when they receive them,” the club’s Sandra Squire told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Hopefully it will give them a sense that someone cares for them at Christmas.”
