A Burnham-On-Sea school has been forced to close for a week due to power supply problems.
Burnham-On-Sea Infants School sent pupils home on Wednesday (April 17th) and has advised parents that it will not re-open until Wednesday April 24th.
A spokeswoman explained: “Due to a power surge that occured when Western Power were working on the school site, electrical equipment and wiring has been damaged.”
“The school now needs to be fully inspected to ensure that all the wiring and equipment is safe. This will take until Tuesday 23rd April when we hope to be able to confirm that we will be open on the following day.”
The school has apologised for the inconvenience that the closure is causing.
