Final tickets are available for West Huntspill Players’ performance of the comedy Improbable Fiction, which runs from Wednesday (November 21st) until Saturday.
The show is being performed each night at 7.45pm in the village’s Balliol Hall by seven members of the award-winning theatrical group.
The Alan Ayckbourne production is described as a “zany, imaginative play” by director Alan Jarvis, right.
It centres around six aspiring authors, who meet on a winter’s evening to discuss their work.
Among them are a writer of historical romances, played by Janet Holderness, one of children’s literature (Amber McHale), crime fiction (Jacqui Strong), sci-fi (Greg Fear) and musicals (David Jenkins).
“The Chairman, Larry Bennett, attempts to get the group out of a rut by suggesting that they collaborate on a piece of writing – an idea that is received without enthusiasm. However, as he and Ilsa (Emma Davis) are clearing up after the meeting, there is a clap of thunder and the story that would have resulted takes place before his very eyes,” Alan Jarvis told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
He added: “This play contains enough sharp comedy and affectionate satire to provide an enjoyable and memorable evening.”
The performances are being held each night at 7.45pm and tickets are available by calling Mary Parish on 01278 785651. They cost £6 each, or £5 for concessions.
